AQUASOMA® Intro

The Aquasoma® Intro course spans two days and immerses participants in the basic principles and techniques of Aquasoma®. The course provides a safe and inspiring learning environment.
The focus of the course is on mobilising the cervical and dorsal spine, freeing the breath, and relieving tension in the back.

Course format: blended training (~ 2 days in-person), plus online learning materials and self-directed at-home activities
Number of credits: 1 AECS
Prerequisites: none, open to everybody

AQUASOMA® Foundation

The Aquasoma® Foundation course prepares you to deliver a comprehensive session that promotes the mental and physical well-being of your receiver. The program focuses on techniques that facilitate self-regulation of the central nervous system to calm excess mental activity. At the physical level, we focus on improving the mobility of the spine and extending the work to the upper and lower limbs. The result for the recipient is an experience of profound calm and tranquility.

Course format: blended training (5-6 days in-person), plus online learning materials and self-directed at-home activities
Number of credits: 2.6 AECS
Prerequisites: Aquasoma® Intro course successfully completed.

AQUASOMA® Essentials Private Class

The private class, formerly known as Supervision, is a one-on-one class with an Assistant Instructor or an Instructor for you to assess your level of competence, clarify doubts and hone your skills in preparation for the next steps of your training.

You can take a private lesson at any time during the training and we strongly recommend that you do so.

However it is compulsory to take one private class and receive a positive evaluation before registering to the Aquasoma® Essentials Specialist exam. 

At the end of this private class you will have a very detailed list of actions to improve on and achieve the level of attainment expected to pass the Aquasoma® Essentials Specialist exam.

Course format: face-to-face training (an hour and a half) and self-managed activities at home
Number of credits: 0.1 AECS
Prerequisites: having completed any Aquasoma® course.

Practicum AQUASOMA®

These are free (unpaid) practice sessions for you to exercise and explore in a friendly context with the complete set of skills you acquired during Aquasoma® courses.

By practising with fellow students you will take advantage of receiving their detailed feedback.

Obligatory:
To complete the Aquasoma® Intro course: minimum 4 practices, 2 of which with volunteers of your choice. In any case no more than 2 practices with the same model.
To complete the Aquasoma® Foundation course: minimum 6 practices, 3 of which with volunteers of your choice. In any case no more than 2 practices with the same model.

Course format: one-on-one practice (45 min per session)
Number of credits: included in the Intro module 0.20 AECS, in the Foundation 0.30 AECS
Prerequisites: having completed any Aquasoma® course.

AQUASOMA® experience sessions

Sessions you must receive from a Professional who will give you the opportunity to experience for yourself what you will soon be offering to your clients/patients.

Obligatory: 2 sessions to be received from qualified Aquasoma® Specialists (or, where not available, from MKS Watsu Advanced Professionals).

Course format: individual sessions (45 min per session)
Number of credits: 0.1 AECS
Prerequisites: none.

AQUASOMA® Essentials Specialist exam

You will be able to demonstrate your comptence during 2 practical sessions that you will give to two instructors, after passing the online preparatory test.

Course format: 2 one-to-one practice sessions (90 min per session) and online preparatory test.
Number of credits: 0.15 AECS

Prerequisites:
Aquasoma® Intro course with succesfull final assessment.
Aquasoma® Foundation course with succesfull final assessment.
Aquasoma® Essentials private class with positive final evaluation.
Practicum completed
Experience sessions completed.

Additional requirements for students who do not have previous certifications as a manual therapist or professional body-workers:
AKBT Aquasoma® course with positive final evaluation.
