Waterdance (WaTa) 1, Brussels (BELGIUM) 17-22/05 2023
WATERDANCE-1 COURSE DESCRIPTION
WaTa (WasserTanz, WaterDance) was developed in 1987 by the Swiss Arjana C. Brunschwiler and Peter Schröter. WaTa is an advanced aquatic work technique in which the recipient is - with the help of a nose clip - gradually brought underwater in a three-dimensional experience without gravity.
Working with the breath calms the person, the body relaxes and apneas are stretched effortlessly during the session, always adapted to the ability of the person receiving.
The result is a liberation of movements in the water, thus creating a form of underwater dance.
Waterdance's movements are sometimes reminiscent of Japanese Aikido, classical ballet, swimming dolphins and sometimes even the cradling of the foetus in the womb, constantly evoking a dancing, even playful element.
The body is animated by a wave-like movement, the sequences on the surface and underwater follow each other according to the recipient's breathing rhythm.
Waterdance helps release major physical and emotional tensions. It can cause a space-time displacement in which altered states of consciousness and a feeling of deep relaxation arise. Impressions of pleasure and joy often appear.
Waterdance is a form of body and energy technique that combines play, dance, fluidity and harmony.
Waterdance is aimed at all those who wish to be accompanied underwater, to surrender to the power of breathing and the joys of dancing underwater.
